Epoxy Resin Tables by KWD

Handcrafted River Tables, Coffee Tables and Dining Tables in Phnom Penh.

The Technique

What Is an Epoxy Resin Table?

An epoxy resin table is a piece of furniture where natural timber and poured resin are combined to create a surface that could not exist in nature alone. The resin fills the gaps between two or more slabs of hardwood, forming a channel that runs the length of the piece — the "river." Sometimes it is a narrow stream. Sometimes it is a wide ocean. Sometimes it is a deliberate pool of colour that catches the light and holds it.

The technique has become one of the most sought-after forms of bespoke furniture in the world over the past decade. But most resin tables sold today are mass-produced in factories, made from cheap timber and poured quickly. KWD works differently. Every epoxy table we make is built by hand, in Cambodia, from locally sourced hardwood, and poured slowly by a craftsman who has done it many times before.

Console, Side and Bedside Tables

Conference and Boardroom Tables

A custom epoxy coffee table serves as the visual anchor of modern residential lounges. Available in dimensions from 90cm to 180cm, each piece features tailored resin colors ranging from oceanic teal to warm translucent amber.

Designed for intimacy and hospitality, our bespoke dining table commissions accommodate 4 to 12 guests comfortable. Slabs are hand-selected for live-edge character before resin casting.

Compact resin accent creations offer an approachable entry point into bespoke furniture. Designed as entryway console tables, lounge side tables, or luxury hotel suite bedside units, these smaller formats deliver the same high-clarity resin pouring and hardwood finishes in versatile footprints.

Commanding respect in corporate headquarters and law firms, KWD boardroom tables span lengths up to 3 metres. Seamlessly integrated concealed cable management channels and pop-up power ports blend modern connectivity with timeless artisan woodworking.

Hospitality & Venues

Custom Commissions for Hotels, Bars and Restaurants

The businesses that attract Cambodia's middle class and wealthy clientele are all competing for the same thing — the moment a guest walks through the door and decides, within three seconds, what kind of place this is. A hotel lobby, a sky bar, a fine dining room, a private members' club, a luxury car showroom, a jewellery boutique, a high-end spa, a KTV VIP suite. In every one of those spaces, the furniture is doing work that no amount of signage can do. It is telling the guest whether they are in the right place.

We build commercial epoxy installations for exactly these venues. Not residential pieces scaled up, but structures engineered for the traffic, weight and punishment that a working hospitality or retail environment delivers every single day. A bar counter that takes elbows, glasses, spills and thirty guests a night. A hotel lobby centrepiece that has to look immaculate at 7am and at midnight. A restaurant dining suite built to match the room's design language across ten or twenty tables. A conference table for a law firm or private bank where the clients sitting around it are deciding whether to trust you with their money.

We work alongside interior architects and designers, or directly with owners and operators, depending on how your project is structured. If you have drawings, we will build to them. If you have a vision but no drawings, we will develop the design with you. Either way, the engineering is specified for commercial use — reinforced substrates, commercial-grade epoxy systems, bases rated for the load, and finishes chosen for cleanability as much as beauty. Service access is designed in from the start, so lighting and any electrical components can be maintained without closing the venue or dismantling the piece.

Delivery, on-site mounting and installation within Phnom Penh are included with every commercial commission. We handle the logistics ourselves, work around your opening hours where necessary, and do not leave until the piece is positioned, connected and finished. Every commercial piece is also covered by the Khmer Wood Design Guarantee, numbered, certified, and entered into our permanent register — with a Digital Product Passport that gives your venue documented provenance for insurance, valuation and resale.

If you are fitting out a hotel, a bar, a restaurant, a showroom, a spa, a private office or a members' club, and you want furniture that guests ask about, we would like to hear from you. Send us the drawings, the dimensions, or just the room. We will tell you honestly what is possible.

Artisan Ingredients

The Materials We Work With

Our craftsmen work with sustainably harvested Cambodian teak, dense acacia, distinctively patterned mango wood, and reclaimed structural timbers. We use military-grade UV-stable liquid resin that maintains diamond clarity without yellowing under tropical sun exposure, anchored by custom powder-coated steel bases.

Authenticity & Heritage

Guarantee, Provenance and the Digital Product Passport

Every KWD piece is protected by our comprehensive structural craft guarantee. Owners receive a hand-signed certificate of origin and entry into our official Phnom Penh studio ledger.

An embedded NFC brass chip links your table directly to its Digital Product Passport, recording wood origin, craftsman identity, and enabling seamless free ownership transfer should your piece be passed down or resold.

Why a KWD Epoxy Table Is Different

There are three things that separate our resin tables from the ones you will find in a standard furniture store.

The first is the timber. We use solid Cambodian hardwood — teak, acacia, mango wood, and reclaimed stock — rather than imported softwood or engineered board. The grain is genuine, the colour is natural, and the slab is thick enough to be worked, repaired, and refinished decades from now.

The second is the pour. Resin work is unforgiving. Temperature, humidity, ratio and timing all affect the finished surface. Rushed pours trap bubbles, yellow over time, and separate from the timber. Our pours are done slowly, in controlled conditions, and left to cure properly before sanding and polishing.

The third is provenance. Every KWD table is numbered, certified, and recorded in our permanent register. It comes with a Digital Product Passport — a private web page describing your specific piece — and an NFC tag embedded inside it, so its authenticity can be verified with a single tap of a phone. No other furniture store in Cambodia offers this.

Coffee Tables: The Most Requested Piece

The coffee table is where this material works best. It is low, close to the eye, and seen from above — which means the river runs the length of the room and disappears into the depth of the piece. A resin coffee table in a living room becomes the centrepiece of the space. Guests put their glasses down on it. Children run their fingers along the channel. It is the most personal piece of furniture most people own.

We build coffee tables in every size, from compact 90cm pieces for apartments up to 180cm statement tables for larger rooms. Rounds, ovals and rectangles. Legs in steel, timber, or a combination. And a choice of resin colours — from deep ocean blue and emerald green to clear, black, or a custom tone matched to your interior.

If you have been searching for a coffee table in Phnom Penh that is genuinely one of a kind, this is where to start. Our coffee tables begin at around USD 650 and are made to order.

Dining Tables: Made for the Room They Live In

A dining table is the most important piece of furniture in most homes. It is where the family gathers, where guests are seated, where the most memorable evenings of your life take place. It deserves better than something imported from a warehouse.

Our epoxy dining tables are built to your dimensions — not adjusted to fit them. We make tables that seat four, six, eight, ten, or more. We build round tables for intimate spaces, rectangular tables for formal dining rooms, and long tables for large families or open-plan living areas. The resin river runs through the centre of the piece, framing the timber on either side.

Because every dining table is made to order, you choose the wood, the resin colour, the finish, and the base. A deep teak slab with black resin reads formal and dramatic. A lighter mango wood with clear resin feels warm and modern. Acacia with deep blue resin suggests the sea.

Our dining tables begin at around USD 1,800 and take six to twelve weeks depending on size and complexity.

Console, Side and Bedside Tables

The resin technique is not limited to the two biggest pieces in the house. We build console tables for hallways and living rooms, side tables for sofas and reading chairs, bedside tables for master bedrooms, and small accent tables that sit somewhere between furniture and art.

These smaller pieces are often the easiest way to bring a resin table into a home for the first time, because the investment is lower and the placement is flexible. A resin console table in an entry hall sets the tone for everything beyond it. A resin bedside table in a hotel suite is the detail guests remember.

Conference and Boardroom Tables

For businesses, a resin table makes a different kind of statement. A conference table in a boardroom is seen by every client, every partner, every investor who walks through the door. It shapes the impression of the company before a single word is spoken.

We build resin conference tables up to 3 metres and beyond, with cable management built into the base, and power and data ports where required. The resin river runs the length of the piece and becomes a feature of every meeting held around it. For law firms, finance offices, hotels and developers, this is a piece that pays for itself in impressions.

Custom Commissions for Hotels, Bars and Restaurants

Commercial clients come to us for pieces that could not be bought elsewhere. A restaurant wanting a table that seats twelve and matches the room's palette. A hotel needing a feature piece in the lobby. A bar wanting a counter with a resin river running through the top. A KTV or lounge wanting something theatrical.

We design, build and install these pieces ourselves. We can work to your architect's drawings, or we can develop the design with you from scratch. Installation within Phnom Penh is included; other provinces are quoted separately.

The Materials We Work With

Every KWD resin table is built from solid hardwood. Our most common timbers are teak, acacia, mango wood, and reclaimed Cambodian hardwood — all documented, and all legally sourced. We are happy to explain exactly where the wood in your piece came from, and we refuse to work with undocumented or endangered timber.

The resin is a two-part epoxy system, chosen for clarity, hardness and UV stability. We use slow-curing formulations that allow bubbles to escape and produce a surface that stays clear for years rather than yellowing within months. Where colour is added, we use pigments that hold their tone under sunlight.

The base is usually steel, powder-coated or finished to match. We also build timber bases and combination bases for clients who want a warmer look.

Guarantee, Provenance and the Digital Product Passport

Every KWD piece is covered by the Khmer Wood Design Guarantee, which includes structural, finish, and resin-work coverage. If something fails within the covered period, we come to you rather than asking you to return the piece.

Each table carries a numbered certificate of authenticity, a permanent entry in our public register, and a private Digital Product Passport. The passport page describes your specific table — its materials, its maker, its build date — and can be accessed by tapping your phone against the NFC tag embedded in the piece. Only you and those you choose to share it with can view it.

If you ever sell, gift or bequeath your table, ownership transfer is recorded free of charge. The next owner inherits the full history. This is what makes a KWD piece hold its value in a way that imported furniture does not.

Commission Your Unique Epoxy Table

We are not a typical furniture store. We do not have a showroom floor stacked with finished pieces, and we do not sell from stock. Every table is commissioned by one client, for one room, and built to fit that space.

That means it takes longer than picking something up the same day. It also means you are not settling for something that almost fits, in a finish that is almost right. You are getting a table that exists because you asked for it.

To begin, contact us with the size you have in mind, the room it will live in, and any reference images that inspire you. We will discuss timber options, resin colours, and base design, then prepare a written quotation. A 50% deposit confirms the order and starts production.
